Trust your instinct at all times and never belittle its importance. Animals depend on it for survival; and they are never wrong. Every characteristic of creation has been put there for very valid reason. Take the positioning of the Earth in the galaxy; for example, it is placed just so that it leans neither too much toward the sun – in order that it is not incinerated by the intensity of the sun’s heat – nor too much toward the moon – in order that its life forms are not frozen to death.
Never derogate your instinct.
However, beware of confusing over-suspiciousness with instinct. While the latter can be said to be the spirit put in you by your Creator to act as a beacon of light for you in the dark, the former is simply the mental model formed in you by fear to explain away your reluctance to let go, and let God.
